If a weapon has 100 base damage and 10% status chance, after slotting in a single dual stat, it will have 100 base and 60 elemental damage, and 16% status chance. This means that dual stat mods are easy to max out, and easy to slot into a build, since a maxed dual stat elemental costs only 7 mod capacity. Dual stat mods also have only three ranks up to 60% additional damage and status chance. The basics of it are simple enough - dual stat mods do two things at once: they bolster the given weapon's status chance, and they add a certain percentage of the weapon's base damage in the form of elemental damage.
